I’m going to come clean with something. I have struggles. These are the things I struggle with:Being on time Returning calls Writing “thank you” notes Texting while others are present Cleaning out my email inbox Cleaning out my car Watching too much TV Spending money Remembering names Administration Communicating Confrontation Follow through Insecurity Laziness Being over weight Passive aggressiveness Consistency Self-image Exaggeration Bitterness Regret Being quiet Prayer Reading the Bible Being a husband Being a father Being in Christ
However…2 Corinthians 12:9-10 (NLT)
Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.Jeremiah 29:11 (NLT)
For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.Romans 8 (NLT) So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. 2 And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death. 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 (NLT) We are human, but we don’t wage war as humans do. We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ. Revelation 21:3-4 (NLT) I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them. He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.”
Although I’m messed up, God can still use me. All those things I struggle with are nothing compared to the strength that God has giving me to overcome obstacles in my life. So, in conclusion, God’s got this; I do not need to hang onto it any longer.
(I forgot to mention that I also struggle with letting go…)
